When you apply to Agency Insurance Company of Maryland, Inc. for insurance, you disclose information about yourself. Federal and state laws regulate how that information is collected, used, and disclosed.
Agency Insurance Company of Maryland, Inc., its affiliates, and subsidiaries maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with state and federal regulations to guard personal and financial information. Employee access is limited to people with a business reason to know it.

What Type Of Information Do We Collect About You And From Whom?
Most information comes directly from you through applications and follow-up questions, including details such as your name, address, driving history, and other information needed for coverage decisions.
Depending on the transaction, AIC may also review motor vehicle records, claims histories, medical information, financial information, or consumer credit information gathered from agencies, public records, other insurers, or government entities as permitted by law.

What Do We Do With The Information Collected About You?
Information about you may be retained in company records and in your agent's files to evaluate coverage requests, determine rates, service policies, and settle claims.
If coverage is declined or priced differently because of a consumer report, AIC will provide notice as required by law and identify the reporting agency. Information about former customers may also be retained and disclosed as permitted by law.

AIC does not disclose non-public personal or financial information unless disclosure is necessary to conduct business and permitted by law.

- Parties performing business, professional, or insurance functions for the company
- Independent adjusters, appraisers, investigators, and attorneys handling claims
- Businesses that support data processing or scientific research
- Other insurers, agents, or consumer reporting agencies when reasonably necessary
- Insurance support organizations involved in fraud prevention
- Medical care institutions or professionals verifying coverage or auditing services
- Insurance regulatory agencies
- Law enforcement or governmental authorities when legally required or to protect legal interests
- Authorized persons under subpoena, warrant, or court order
- Certificate holders, lienholders, mortgagees, lessors, or other interested parties reflected in policy records

How Can You Find Out About Information We Have About You?
You have the right to know what information is kept in company files, to request reasonable access, and to receive a copy. Requests should include your complete name, address, date of birth, and all policy numbers issued to you by AIC.
Within thirty business days of receiving a request, AIC will describe the recorded personal or financial information available in its files and identify any recipients of disclosures made within the past two years, subject to the legal exceptions for claim or litigation evaluation materials.
If you believe information should be corrected, amended, or deleted, you may submit that request. AIC will respond within thirty business days, either making the change or explaining why it declined. If no change is made, you may add a concise statement to the file and future disclosures will include it where required.
